Our Wildlife Reserves

Our flagship Wild Spaces Fund managed reserves can be found at -

The Association already protects over 13,000 acres of wetland reserves and wild spaces in Kent and further afield, much of which are designated as a Site Of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and Special Protection Areas (SPA). KWCA have a number of Site Managers whose responsibility is to manage the Associations many reserves. We are justifiably proud of our efforts towards conservation and regular data collection is made on reserves to monitor the areas effectiveness as a refuge for birds, mammals, reptiles, fish and other species.

As well as our WSF managed reserves, the Kent Wildfowlers have many other vitally important wetland reserves throughout the area.

In and around the Swale we have reserves at:

  • Murtson Lakes
  • Neats Court Marshes
  • Kingsferry Marshes
  • Harty Fields
As well as extensive intertidal refuges at:
Conyer, Emley Reach, Leysdown and Shellness

Our Thames reserves include the vitally important intertidal flats at Grain, and moving further afield we have a stunning reserve at Spring Grove in the Stour Valley.

Wild Spaces Fund is the conservation and land preservation arm of the Kent Wildfowling and Conservation Association which already protects over 13000 acres of wild spaces in Kent and further afield. Most of this land has the highest environmental designation (e.g. Site of Scientific Special Interest, Special Protection Area). In addition to being able to enjoy these beautiful places your support means Wild Spaces Fund can acquire, improve and preserve them for the future.
Wild Spaces Fund is a company limited by guarantee and a UK registered charity.
